'Twilight' Saga To Continue After 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2': Jacob's Commentary

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 Poster

Take a look at this article. Now, if you're even slightly sane, you won't like what you see. It doesn't matter whether or not you like the Twilight saga or not, let's face it: after this year's sure-to-be-a-blockbuster finale, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, the world does not need any more teenage vampires.

Golden Globes Recap (2012)

Ricky Gervais hosts the Golden Globes... again

So, the 2012 Golden Globes were last night, and they were certainly interesting! We had a return to Ricky Gervais's... unique sense of humor, several well-deserved awards, and then some styles that were, for lack of a better word, interesting. But what we're here to talk about are the awards -- and what they mean for the race to the Oscars that starts today.

Poll Results!

So, for my first poll, I asked my followers which big 2012 movie they were most looking forward to. They could choose between the third and final appearance of Christian Bale as the caped crusader, the first half of an epic fantasy prequel, the first movie in the film adaptation of a critically-acclaimed teen book series, two Kristen Stewart movies, and an all-encompassing superhero movie bringing together the stars of four independent film series.
  • The Dark Knight Rises (9 votes)
  • The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (8 votes)
  • The Hunger Games (6 votes)
  • Breaking Dawn: Part 2 (3 votes)
  • The Avengers (1 vote)
  • Snow White and the Huntsman (1 vote)
Looks like the world's most looking forward to seeing Christopher Nolan's final venture into Gotham City. The Hobbit seems to be pretty close on its trail, though. Well, The Dark Knight Rises comes out first out of the two -- but if I'm correct, the first of these six to come out is, indeed, The Hunger Games, and so we'll be getting some preview coverage of that coming soon.

Academy Award Talk: Week 1

So, with the Academy Award nominations being announced on January 24, and the awards show being televised on February 26, this blog will be doing some commentary on the possible nominations and, subsequently, potential winners in the weeks to come. This week, I'm going to list out my initial predictions for the main six awards. If you have any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments box. Because of the rule change in the Best Picture category, I'm estimating eight nominees at this time. Things listed as "locks" are the ones I think are certain.

Sorry for the Delay!

So, of course, just after I got into the idea of doing this blog, my computer died. It's currently in the capable hands of Best Buy's Geek Squad, but until then, I'm going to try to use various public-use computers in the library and other venues at my college to get up the reviews that should have been going up over the past two weeks. Expect a review of Woody Allen's summer movie, Midnight in Paris, next!
